Our granddaughter has a name! She'll be known as Chaya Rochel Weiss. Rebecca and Yerachmiel are planning to write up something about her name which I'll forward as well, but the short of it is that she's named after his father's mother, Rochel. In addition, Rochel's mother was Chaya Rivkah, so it honors the memory of both his grandmother and great grandmother. Traditionally, Chaya was the name of Eve, the first woman, prior to the sin in the garden of Eden. We hope our Chaya will be the first of many in her generation and those to follow, so it is appropriate that the first grandchild (on both sides) has her name.
We're starting to call her Chayala, which really seems to fit her. She continues to be very happy and seems to have a calm, gentle soul. This Shabbat she slept or watched us during each of our Shabbat meals, as well as the Kiddush for the women at the apartment.
Hope all is well with all of you,
Love from Jerusalem,
Bobi (pronounced "Bah-bee") Beth and Zeyde ("Zey-dee") Andy
